Exploring Asset Forfeiture in Crypto
To all my fellow asset forfeiture/crypto/tracing nerds, I have your weekend reading recommendation, and it’s going to blow you away! 😍
While researching the latest in asset forfeiture tracing law for crypto, I stumbled upon a gem in the Stanford Law Review: "Untangling Laundered Funds: The Tracing Requirement Under 18 U.S.C. § 1957." And the author? Audrey Spensley—a recent graduate! It’s truly inspiring to see such a detailed and insightful piece from a recent law student.
Audrey argues for the proportionality approach, an idea that is especially relevant for crypto tracing (and yes, it's connected to a project I’m working on! 😃💪). Reading something this thorough and innovative from a new graduate is incredibly inspiring.
For anyone interested, check it out here, and let me know what you think. Special shoutout to my fellow AF nerds, especially in crypto: Judge Zia Faruqui, Evelyn Baltodano-Sheehan, John Kucera, Neal Christiansen, Kevin Mosley, and Christopher Kaltsas! 😉
